How can one say God does not exist while there is no known test for immaterial beings?

I do not state that no gods exists, only that there is no evidence for the existence of any god. As long as there is no evidence, there is no reason to assume that any god would exist, just like there is no reason to assume that I have an invisible pink unicorn in my kitchen.
