Is walking from the montgomery bart station in sf to the franchino italian restaurant at 8-10pm safe?

i want to surprise my gf to an italian date before i leave for basic training but i want us both to be safe. were taking the bart from concord to montgomery bart station. i dont want to have to call a taxi but i will if i have to. i dont know sf very well so idk what parts are dangerous at night.the restaurant is located on 347 columbus ave. is there another way we should walk. any info would be deeply appreciated.
