What keyboards are good for loading sounds into?

I am in a metal band (As The World Weeps - www.facebook.com/astheworldweeps) and i am looking for a new keyboard that has midi in and outs, and that i can use a foot controller to change sounds quickly while playing. I know nothing about keyboard gear or what kind of keyboards to look at really so i hope someone can give me any relatively cheap prices from about 600-1200 for a synth or something like that (no work stations) and something that has 61 keys or so
